[1920 - 1981] H.I.R.H. Prince Senhor Dom Pedro Henrique Affonso Felipe Maria Miguel Gabriel Raphael Gonzaga de Orléans e Bragança, Prince and Head of the Imperial House of Brazil, Prince of Orleans and Braganza. b. at Boulogne-sur-Seine, France, 13th September 1909, eldest son of H.I.H. Prince Luíz de Orléans e Bragança, Prince of Brazil, Prince of Orléans-Braganza, by his wife, H.I.H. Princess Maria das Graças. Styled Prince of Grão Pará together with the style of His Imperial and Royal Highness from birth. Assumed the title of Imperial Prince of Brazil together with the style of His Imperial and Royal Highness on the death of his father, 26th March 1920. Succeeded his grandmother as Prince and Head of the Imperial House of Brazil and Grand Master of the Imperial Orders of the Cross, Dom Pedro I, and the Rose, and of the Military Orders of Our Lord Jesus Christ, St Benedict of Aviz, and St James of the Sword, 14th November 1921. Returned to Brazil with his family after the removal of legal disabilities against the dynasty, which had forced them into exile in 1889. Settled first at Retiro, Petrópolis, then at Fazenda Santa Maria, near Jacarezinho, in the State of Paraná 1951, before finally removing to Site Santa Maria, Vassouras, in the State of Rio de Janeiro in 1964. Perpetual Protector Brother of the Imperial Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora de la Glória de Onteiro. Hon Presdt Inst Historico de Petrópolis 1938-1981. Rcvd: Bailif GC of Justice with collar of the Constantinian Military Order of St George of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies, Bailiff GC of Honour & Devotion (1974) and Cross of Profession of the SMO of Malta. m. at Nymphenburg Castle, Munich, Bavaria, Germany, 19th August 1937, H.I.H. Princess Senhora Dona Maria Elisabeth Franziska Josepha Therese de Wittelsbach e Croÿ-Solre de Orléans e Bragança, Princess Consort of Brazil, Princess of Orleans and Braganza (b. at Nymphenburg Castle, Munich, Bavaria, Germany, 9th September 1914; d. Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, 13th May 2011, bur. Imperial Family Tomb, Vassouras, Estado do Rio), styled Princess Consort of Brazil with the style of Her Imperial and Royal Highness 19th August 1937-5th July 1981, and Princess Mother of Brazil with the style of Her Imperial and Royal Highness from 5th July 1981, rcvd: Dame of the Orders of St Elizabeth and St Theresa of Bavaria, and DGC of Justice of the Constantinian Military Order of St George of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies, and Dame of Justice of the SMO of Malta, eldest daughter of Major-General H.R.H. Prince Franz Maria Luitpold of Bavaria, by his wife H.R.H. Princess Isabelle Antoinette Eleanore Nathalie Clementine, née Princess of Croÿ, daughter of H.S.H. Charles Alfred Louis Rudolphe, Duke of Croÿ. He d. at Site Santa Maria, Vassouras, Estado do Rio, Brazil, 5th July 1981 (bur. there at the Imperial Family Tomb), having had issue, eight sons and four daughters:

Princess Senhora Dona Maria Elisabeth Franziska Josepha Therese de Wittelsbach e Croÿ-Solre de Orléans e Bragança, Princess Consort of Brazil, Princess of Orleans and Braganza educ. Colégio Santo Inácio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in Paris, France, and at the Technische Universität München (TUM) (B.Sc. 1967), Bavaria, Germany. Qualified as an Engineer. Served as Head of the Secretariat of the Imperial House of Brazil and Chief Secretary to his father, Dom Pedro Henrique, 1967-1981. Succeeded on the death of his father as Prince and Head of the Imperial House of Brazil and Grand Master of the Imperial Orders of Dom Pedro I, the Cross, and of the Rose, and of the Military Orders of Our Lord Jesus Christ, St Benedict of Aviz, and St James of the Sword, 5th July 1981. Presdt Noblesse et Tradition since 2004, Mbr Brasileira de Defesa da Tradição, Família e Propriedade (TFP), etc. Founder of the Imperial Medal of Brasil for Civic and Cultural Merit 7th October 2011.
