1661 - 1673 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan 'Abdu'l Haq ul-Mubbin ibni Pangiran Bendahara Raja Dungu Muhammad [al-Marhum di Pulau], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, third son of Y.A.M. Paduka Sri Pangiran Bendahara Sri Maharaja Pangiran Muhammad Panjang [Raja Dungu], of Kampung Pandei Kawat, by his wife, Y.A.M. Pangiran Tuah, daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Hassan ibni al-Marhum Sultan Saif ul-Rijal Nur ul-Alam, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, educ. privately. Appointed as Paduka Sri Pangiran Bendahara Sri Maharaja Permaisuara before his accession. Murdered his uncle and seized the throne, 7th December 1661. Opposed by Pangiran Bongsu who proclaimed himself Sultan, once Mubbin had removed himself to his new palace on Chermin islabd. Unable to regain control of Brunei Town, he was forced to reside at Kinarut and conduct operations on the mainland from there. Defeated and deposed by Sultan Muhi ud-din in 1673. m. H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Siti Nur Alam (k. at the Istana, Chermin island, 1673), eldest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Hassan ibni al-Marhum Sultan Saif ul-Rijal Nur ul-Alam, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. He was k. (krissed or garotted) at the Great Mosque, Chermin island, 1673, having had issue, three sons and a daughter:

1673 - 1690 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhi ud-din ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil ul-Akbar [al-Marhum Bongsu], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, fourth son of Paduka Sri Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil ul-Akbar ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Hassan, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, educ. privately. Appointed as Paduka Sri Pangiran Bendahara Sri Maharaja Permaisuara, 1661. Raised the standard of revolt and had himself proclaimed Sultan, at Bruenei Town, in opposition to Sultan Mubbin. Wrested absolute control of the sultanate with the help of the Sultan of Sulu, 1673. Ceded certain territories on the north-western coast of Borneo in return. He is renowned for his strength, wisdom and acumen in reuniting the kingdom after the long and fractious civil war. m. a daughter of his uncle, Paduka Sri Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Hassan, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. 1690 - 1710 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Nasir ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni Pangiran Besar 'Abdu'l [al-Marhum Kianggeh], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, eldest son of Pangiran Muda Besar 'Abdu'llah ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil ul-Akbar, educ. privately. Proclaimed himself Sultan on the death of his paternal uncle, 1690. The first monarch to introduce gold coinage into his realm. He was k. at Kianggeh, 1710.

Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad 'Ala ud-din ibni Pangiran di-Gadong Pangiran Shah Mubbin [al-Marhum Brunei], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, son of Duli Pangiran di-Gadong Sahib ul-Mal ul-Mulk ul-Adli Pangiran Shah Mubbin ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhi ud-din, educ. privately. Succeeded on the abdication of his father-in-law and great uncle, 1730. He introduced the pitis currency and codified the ancient laws of the kingdom into the 'Salasilah Raja-Raja Brunei'. m. (first) Y.A.M. Pangiran Babu Sri Banum (d. before 1730), daughter of Paduka Sri Pangiran Bendahara Sri Maharaja Permaisuara Pangiran Untong. m. (second) Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Anak Bulan (m. second, ca. 1737, Sri Paduka Duli Pangiran Temenggong Sahib ul-Bahar Pangiran Ampah ibni Pangiran di-Gadong Shah Mubbin, half-brother of her late husband), eldest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Kamal ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. * A letter from the Dutch authorities in Batavia, dated 1st September 1721, is adressed to the ruler of Brunei entitled as Paduka Sri Sultan Ma-Alam Malicu Mataram Lalulla Fil Alam. While it is relatively easy to transliterate the last part of this title more correctly as Malik al-Zahir Zillu'llahi fil-Alam, the personal name "Ma-Alam" remains a mystery.
