1831- 1855 H.E. Ras Wube Haile Mariam, Prince (Mesfin) of Tigray. b. 1799, son of H.E. Dejazmatch Haile Mariam Gabre, Governor of Semen, by his first wife, Woizero Mintaye, educ. privately. Baptised as Kidane Mariam. Governor of Semien 1826-1855. Assisted in the capture and murder of Dejazmatch Sabagadis and was rewarded with the Governorship of Tigray by Ras Dori, February 1831. Raised to the titles of Dejazmatch 1826, and Ras 1832. Defeated by Emperor Tewodros at the battle of Darasge, 8th February 1855. Deposed and imprisoned in chains on the same day. m. (first) Woizero Yeworq Weha (d. ca. 1825), daughter of Dejazmatch Maru, of Dembiya. m. (second) ca. 1828, Woizero Dinqinash, daughter of his predecessor, Dejazmatch Sabagadis Woldu. m. (third) Woizero Lekiyaye (d. after 1869). He was k. at Magdala, 1859, having had issue, six sons and four daughters:
1) Lij Lemma Wube (s/oWoizero Yeworq Weha).
2) Dejazmatch Ishatu Wube (s/o Woizero Lekiyaye). Governor of Marab Malash. He was k. February 1855.
3) Lij Kassa Wube.
4) Dejazmatch Gwangul Wube (s/o Woizero Lekiyaye). He d. 1869.
5) Lij Mashasha Wube.
6) Ras Sabagadis. b. 1842 (s/o Woizero Dinqinash?), educ. privately. Raised to the rank and title of Ras by Emperor Tewodros, aged only 14 years, 1856. Rebelled against him, captured and condemned to death. m. ca. 1856, Woizero Yosefa, sister of H.M. Tewodoros II, Elect of God and King of Kings of Ethiopia. He was k. on the orders of his brother-in-law, ca. 1859.
1) Woizero Hirut. b. before 1825 (d/o Woizero Yeworq Weha). m. H.H. Ras 'Ali Alula Tekku (b. 1818; d. 1866), Viceroy (Enderasse) of the Empire, Governor of Begameder and Gojjam, son of Ras Alula Gugsa, sometime Governor of Gojjam, by his wife, H.M. Empress Menen, daughter of Ras Liban Amade Kolase, Imam of the Wollo of Warra Himenu - see Ethiopia (Begamedar).
2) Woizero Terunish [Turan Worq] [H.M. Empress Tirunash] (d/o Woizero Lekiyaye). m. February 1860, as his third wife, H.M. Tewodoros II, Elect of God and King of Kings of Ethiopia (b. at Sharghe, Qwara, ca. 1818; k. himself at Magdala, 13th April 1868, bur. there, reinturred at Mahbere Selassie Conv., Qwara), youngest son of Dejazmatch Hailu Wolde Giyorgis, Governor of Qwara, by his second wife Woizero Attitaggab, daughter of Dejazmatch Wand Bawosen, of Damot. She d. on the road to Zeila, during the withrawal of British forces from Magdala, 15th May 1868 (bur. Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Cheliqot), having had issue, one son - see Ethiopia (Tewodros).
3) Woizero Desta. m. (first) Tsedale Haile. m. (second) Ishatu Hable.
4) A daughter. m. Dejazmatch Kassa Sabagadis, son of Dejazmatch Sabagadis Woldu, sometime Governor of Tigray - see above.
1855 - 1863 H.E. Ras Araya Dimtsu [Abba Meqtcha], Prince (Mesfin) of Tigray. b. ca. 1810, son of Dejazmatch Dimtsu Debbab, of Endarta, by his wife, Woizero Tabotu, daughter of Shum Agame Woldu. Governor of Tigray 1855-1863, imprisoned at Magdala 1863- 1868, Crown Councillor 1868-1889. He was k. defending the Emperor's baggage train from the Mahdists, at Metemma, 11th March 1889, having had issue, five sons and one daughter:
1) H.E. Dejazmatch Debbab Araya. b. ca. 1850, educ. privately. Defected to the Egyptians in 1878, returned to the fold 22nd February 1888, Governor of Akalla-Guzay 1888, Imperial Adviser for Italian Affairs 1888-1889, then defected to the Italians in 1889. He was k. in battle with Alula, at Abba Garima, 29th September 1891 (bur. Trinity Church, Adowa).
3) H.E. Dejazmatch Abraha Araya [Abba Zinam]. b. 1872, educ. at Rome, Italy. Imprisoned by Iyasu V 1910-1911, Minister of the Interior 1911-1917. m. 1905, Woizero Yetemegnu (b. 1896), daughter of Bitwodad Wale, by his wife, Woizero Sehin, daughter of H.H. Negus Mikael, King of Zion. He d. 1917, having had issue, a daughter:
a) Woizero Shawanesh. b. 1900. m. Lieutenant-General Dejazmatch Hailu Kabbada (b. 1893; k. by the Italians, at Walah, 22nd September 1937), son of Waghsum Kabbada Tafari, by his wife, Woizero Hirut Negussie. She d. 1968, having had issue - see Ethiopia (Zagwe).
4) H.E. Dejazmatch Tadla Araya [Abba Guben]. Governor of Endarta 1896. He had issue, a son:
a) H.E. Dejazmatch Ambaya Tadla. Governor of Adowa 1889.

Ras Gabre Mikael Angda [Alula] (b. at Zuqli, 1847; d. from wounds received in battle at Abba Garima, at Aksum, 15th February 1897), appointed to the rank of Shalaqa 1871, prom. to Ras 1876, and Terkwe Basha 1877, Governor of Hamasen and Saraye 1876, Protector of the Heir Apparent 1879-1888, Governor of the Marab Malash 1884-1888, and of Adowa 1896-1897, son of Angda Qubi, of Mannawe, by his wife, Woizero Garada, daughter of Nagid, of Baga. She d.s.p. October 1883.
1863 - 1867 H.E. Ras Bariaw Pawlos, Prince (Mesfin) of Tigray. Appointed as Imperial Governor of Tigray 1863. m. Woizero Altash (d. October 1890), former wife of H.I.M. Emperor Menelik II, and eldest daughter of H.M. Tewodoros II, Elect of God and King of Kings of Ethiopia, by a secondary wife. He had issue, a son:
