GENEALOGY

• 1) Prince Levanti Abashidze. m. Princess Tinatina (d. 1709), who became a nun under the name of Sister Theonia, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Zaal Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi. He had issue, two sons (Eremin says four, then lists five, including the four sons of Prince Paata):
  • a) Prince Svimon Abashidze. m. H.H. The Brilliant Princess Daria (b. 1757), third daughter of H.M. The Most High King Giorgi VIII and IX, King of Imereti.
  • a) Princess Thaba. m. General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Papuna, 10^th Prince of Mukhrani (d. 1714, bur. Mtzkheta), Master of the Household, fourth son of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Konstantini I, 7^th Prince of Mukhrani. She d. 1704 (bur. Mtzkheta), having had issue, one son - see Georgia (Mukhrani).
• 2) The Most Excellent Prince Malakhia Abashidze, who became H.M. The Most High King Giorgi V, King of Imereti - see below.
• 3) The Most Excellent Prince Paata Abashidze, Prince of Saabashidzo and Sapalavando, Lord of Sverska - see below.

• 1) Prince Zurab Abashidze, Lord of Sverska 1746. Placed in charge of the citadel of Khoropan by King Aleksandri V of Imereti, 1726. m. 1707, Princess Khwaramzi, second daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia. He d. after 1748, having had issue, five sons:
  • a) Prince Zaal Abashidze. Imprisoned in the citadel of Chrocha by his cousin Prince Levanti, 1743. m. a daughter of Prince Mkheidze. He d. before 1775, having had issue, two sons and one daughter:
    • i) Prince Ioani Abashidze. b. after 1746. Ketchibashi in 1775. He had issue, one son:
      • (1) Prince David Ivanovitch Abashidze, Lord of Signask and Telavsk. b. after 1775. Dep. cdt. of the Royal Bodyguard. He d. before 1810, having had issue, three (or five) sons:
        • (a) Prince Ivan Davidovitch Abashidze. b. 1804.
        • (b) Prince Zurab Davidovitch Abashidze. He had issue, two sons:
          • (i) Prince David Zurabovitch Abashidze. b. 25^th April 1837.
          • (ii) Prince Ilya Zurabovitch Abashidze. b. 3^rd May 1839.

    • ii) Prince Simon Zaalevitch Abashidze. He d. ca. 1823, having had issue, three sons:

    • i) H.M. The Most Serene Queen Ana. b. 1730. m. at Kwichkheth, 1745, as his second wife, H.M. The Most Srene King Irakli II, King of Kartli and King of Kakheti, etc. (b. at Telavi, 18^th October 1721; d. there, 12^th January 1798 o.s., bur. Mtzkheta), eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Taimuraz II, King of Kartli and Kakheti, by his second wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Thamar, daughter of H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang VI, King of Kartli. She d. at Tiflis, 6^th December 1749 o.s., bur. Mtzkheta), having had issue - see Georgia (Kakheti).

The Most High King Giorgi XII, King of Georgia, by his second wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Miriami [Khatha], elder daughter of General H.E.     • i) Princess Anastazia. b. 19^th August 1796 o.s. m. 1809, as his first wife, Major-General H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Konstantini (b. 1789; d. at Moscow, 3^rd  May 1844 o.s., bur. Donskoï Monastery), only son of H.M. The Most High King Davit II, King of Imereti. She d. at St Petersburg, 15^th September 1821 (bur. St Alexander Nevski Convent), having had issue, one son - see Georgia (Imereti).

  • f) Prince David Abashidze. m. (first) 1717, a former wife of The Noble Basha Chikovani, and the sister of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Koshita III Chkeidze, Duke of Radsha. m. Princess Darejan, née Nijeradze, and d. 1780), only son of H.M. The Most High King Solomon I the Great, King of Imereti, by his first wife, H.M. Cathedral of Zion), second daughter of H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang Vl, King of Kartli, by his wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Rusudan, daughter of Prince Quilchiko, Cherkez-Batoni and Lord of Little Kabardia. He d. at Tiflis, 13^th January 1746, bur. Sion), having had issue, two sons and one daughter:

The Most Brilliant Princess Mariami, daughter of H.M. The Most High King Aleksandri IV, King of Imereti. She had issue, an only daughter.

• 1) Prince Paata Abashidze. He d. after 1742, having had issue, one son and one daughter:

Cathedral of Zion, Tiflis), third son of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Revaz Orbeliani, Prince of Sabaratiano, sometime C-in-C of the army. She d. at Tiflis, 4^th March 1803, bur. Cathedral of Zion), having had issue, five sons.
• 2) His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Levanti Abashidze. Governor and Regent of Imereti 1707-1725. Expelled from his citadel of Khoropan by King Aleksandri V of Imereti, 1726. m. Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Tinatina (d. 1727, bur. Catzkh), who became a nun under the name of Theona, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Zaal Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi. He d. 14^th December 1757, having had issue, three sons and three daughters:
  • a) Prince Kaikhushru Abashidze. Became a refugee in Turkey where he was rewarded with the office of Achikbashi. m. 1768, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Darejan [Daria Solomovna] (b. 1756; d. at Moscow, 24^th January 1827 o.s. (bur. there at the Pokroskoi Monastery), exiled to Penza by the Russians in 1820, elder daughter of H.M. The Most High King Solomon I Great, King of Imereti, by his first wife, H.H.     • i) Prince Ioani Abashidze (s/o Princess Darejan). A candidate for the throne of Imereti in 1820. Escaped capture by the Russians and fled to Turkey. m. a daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Svimeon II Gurieli, Duke of the Guria, by his wife, Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Makrina, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Kaikhushru Tsereteli, Prince of Satseretelo, sometime Master of the Household of Imereti. He was k. 1822, having had issue:
      • (1) Princes Thamar. m. Prince Ivan Lionidze, son of Prince Solomoni Leonidze, by his wife, Princess Sofios. She had issue, five sons and two daughters.
    • ii) Prince Giorgi Abashidze. m. Princess Elene, née Iashvili. He had issue:
      • (1) Prince Kaikhushru Abashidze. m. Princess Nana, daughter of a Prince Eristov of Guria. He d. 1873, having had issue, six sons and three daughters:

• 2) H.M. The Most High Queen Thamar. b. 1681 (d/o the first wife). m. (first) 1691, H.M. The Most High King Aleksandri IV, King of Imereti (d. 1695), eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Bagrat IV, King of Imereti, by a concubine. m. (second) 1696, H.M. The Most High King Giorgi IV Gotcha, King of Imereti. m. (third), 1700, His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia (d. after 1715), second son of General The Most Excellent Prince Katzo Chikovani, Prince of Lechkhumi, Sainadaridzo, Salipartiano, etc. by his second wife, a daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Khoshita II Orbeliani, Duke of Radsha. • 3) Princess Anica. m. 1698 (div. 1700) H.M. The Most High King Svimeon I, King of Imereti (d. 1701), eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Aleksandri IV, King of Imereti, by his first wife. m. (second) 1701, Prince Lomkatz Chijavadze (d. before 1731). She d. after 1731, having had issue - see Georgia (Imereti).
• 4) A daughter. m. (first) Prince Giorgi Nijaradze (d. 1714). m. (second) 1712 (div. 1713), H.M. The Most High King Giorgi VI, King of Imereti (b. 1691; k.
