GENEALOGY

Shrimant Yeldoji [Eldoji] Chavan. Hado-Chavan of Athni and Jemadar in the service of the Bijapur general, 'Abdu'l Karim Bahalo Khan IV. m. a daughter and heiress of Shrimant Lakhajo More, Patil of Daflepur. He d. ca. 1665, having had issue, a son:

1686 - 1706 Meherban Shrimant Sardar Satvajirao Sahib Dafle [Shetyaji Chavan], Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, elder son of Shrimant Lakhmajirao Yeldoji Dafle, Desmukh of Jath, and Patil of Daflepur, educ. privately. Succeeded to his father's estates, ca. 1680. Entered the Bijapur service and appointed to the command of 6,000 horse and 5,000 foot 1680. Received a sanad granting him the rank and title of Vizier, 31st March 1681. Made himself independent after the overthrow of the Bijapur kingdom in 1686. Forced to submit to Emperor Aurangzeb and become a Mughal vassal, after the seizure of his younger brother by the Imperial forces. Granted the desmukhi watan of Jath and Karajagi mahals in jagir 1686 and appointed to an Imperial mansab of 5,000 zat and 5,000 sowar 11th September 1701. m. (first) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati …Bai Sahib Dafle. m. (second) ..., as his junior wife. He d. in the Imperial camp, at Islampuri [Brahmapuri], July 1706, having had issue, three sons:

1706 - 1754 Shrimant Soubhagyavati Yesubai Sahib [Au Sahib] Desmukh, Ranibai of Jath and Daflepur. Succeeded to Daflepur on the death of her brother-in-law, 1704. Succeeded to Jath, on the death of her father-in-law, July 1706. Granted Daflepur to her adopted son, 1748. m. Meherban Shrimant Babu Sahib Dafle (d.v.p. from wounds received at the capture of Ajimtara, 1700), eldest son of Meherban Shrimant Satvajirao Sahib Dafle [Shetyaji Chavan], Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, by his first wife. 1754 - 1759 Meherban Shrimant Yeshwantrao Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, eldest son of Shrimant Khanojirao Satvajirao Dafle, and grandson of Meherban Shrimant Sardar Satvajirao Sahib Dafle, educ. privately. Adopted by his aunt, and granted Daflepur in 1748. Succeeded to Jath, on the death of her death, 1754. Entered the Imperial service and appointed to the command of a mansab of 3,000 horse. Appointed to the Imperial office of Faujdar of Jath, for his lifetime. Deprived of these Imperial appointments by the Nizam of Hyderabad but later restored and recognised by him in all of his possessions. He d. at Daflepur, 1759, having had issue, an only son:

1759 - 1790 Meherban Shrimant Amritrao I Yeshwantrao Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, only son of Meherban Shrimant Yeshwantrao Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1759. He d. 1790, having had issue, two sons and one daughter:

1790 - 1810 Meherban Shrimant Khanajirao Amritrao Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, eldest son of Meherban Shrimant Amritrao I Yeshwantrao Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur, educ. privately. Succeeded on he death of his father, 1790. Cdr. of 300 Maratha Horse for the Peshwa. Served in the Carnatic and Mysore campaigns, distinguishing himself at the battle of Kurda in 1795. m. (first) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Renukabai Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Administrator of Daflepur (d.s.p. at Jath, 1822) - see below. m. (second) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Salubai Sahib Dafle (d. at Jath, December 1823) - see below. He d.s.p.m. 1810 (succ. by his senior widow).

1810 - 1822 Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Renkukabai Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Regent of Daflepur, senior widow of Meherban Shrimant Khanajirao Amritrao Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur (d.s.p.m. 1810), eldest son of Meherban Shrimant Amritrao I Yeshwantrao Dafle, Desmukh of Jath and Daflepur - see above. Succeeded on the death of her husband 1810. Appointed as administrator of the Daflepur estates, 1816. She d.s.p. at Jath, 1822 (succ. by her co-widow).

Succeeded to Jath on the death of her husband's senior widow, 1822. She d.s.p. at Jath, December 1823 (succ. by her adopted son).

1823 - 1835 Meherban Shrimant Ramrao I Khanajirao Dafle [Aba Sahib], Desmukh of Jath, eldest son of Shrimant Narayanrao Ramrao Dafle, educ. privately. Adopted by Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Salubai Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath, December 1823 and ascended the gadi at her death. m. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Bhagirathibai Sahib Dafle, Desmukh, Ranibai of Jath (d. at Jath, 29th July 1846) - see below. He d.s.p.m. August 1835 (succ. by his widow).
