1859 - 1866 Shaikh Sabah II bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait. b. ca. 1784, son of Shaikh Jabir I bin ‘Abdu’llah Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait. Negotiated the Anglo-Kuwaiti Maritime Truce of 1841. Deputy Ruler after 1843. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1859. m. (first) Fatma bint Salim al-Jarrah, daughter of Salim al-Jarrah, of the al-Fadel family. m. (second) Mauza bint Salman Al-Daud, daughter of Salman Al-Daud. m. (third) at Kuwait, 1820, Shaikha Lulwa bint Muhammad Al-Thaqib (d. at Kuwait, 1st July 1905), daughter of Shaikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Thaqib, Amir of Zubair, represeting the senior male line, of what became the House of Al-Saud, rulers of Saudi Arabia. He d. at Kuwait, November 1866, having had issue, ten sons and four daughters:
