ORDERS & DECORATIONS

Bintang Kehormatan Sri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa (the Star of Honour of the Gallant and Valiant Warrior): instituted by Hisam ud-din Alam Shah on 29^th July 1960 as the supreme award for gallantry in the face of the enemy. Awarded in one class (SP), subsequent awards being denoted by the use of bars. Recipients and their widows receive state allowances.

Darjah Yang Maha Mulia Utama Kerabat di-Raja Malaysia (the Most Exalted and Most Illustrious Royal Family Order of Malaysia): founded by King Ismail Nasir ud-din Shah on 18^th April 1966. Awarded in a single class (member-DKM), to Malaysian rulers and foreign Heads of State. Limited to 10 recipients.

The Most Exalted Royal Family Order of Malaysia (DKM) - collar, sash, breast star and badge.

Darjah Utama Sri Mahkota Negara (the Most Exalted Order of the Crown of State): founded by King 'Abdu'l Rahman on 16^th August 1958. Awarded in a single class (Ahli or member-DMN) to Malaysian rulers and their wives, foreign Heads of State and other distinguished individuals. Limited to 15 recipients.

The Most Exalted Order of the State Crown (DMN) - collar, sash, sash badge, breast star and collar badge.

Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Pangkuan Negara (the Most Distinguished Order of the Defender of the State): founded by King 'Abdu'l Rahman on 21^st August 1958. Awarded in five classes (1. Grand Commander or Sri Maharaja-SMN and limited to 25 recipients, 2. Commander or Panglima-PMN limited to 75 recipients, 3. Companion or Johan-JMN limited to 700 recipients; 4. Officer or Kesatria-KMN, and 5. Member or Ahli-AMN). A medal in silver (Pingat-PPN) was instituted on 9^th August 1960.

The Illustrious Order of the Defender of the Realm - First class or Sri Maharaja (SMN)
collar, collar badge, sash, breast star and sash badge.

Darjah Yang Mulia Setia Mahkota Malaysia (the Distinguished Order of Loyalty to the Crown of Malaysia): founded by King Ismail Nasir ud-din Shah on 15^th April 1966. Conferred in recognition of meritorious service in the civil service, are persons of high social standing, or those holding positions of authority. Awarded in three classes (1. Grandee or Sri-SSM limited to 25 recipients, 2. Commander or Panglima-PSM limited to 250 recipients, 3. Companion or Johan-JSM limited to 800 recipients).

The Order of the Crown of Malaysia - First class or Sri Setia (SSM), collar, sash, breast star and badge.

Darjah Yang Amat Mulia di-Hormati Setia di-Raja (the Most Distinguished Royal Family Order of Loyalty): founded by King 'Abdu'l Rahman on 3^rd September 1965 and awarded at the discretion of the King. Modified and extended on 7^th January 1993. Awarded in four classes (1. Commander or Panglima -PSD, 2. Companion or Johan-JSD, 3. Officer or Kesatria-KSD, and 4. Herald or Bentara-BSD.

Darjah Kepahlawanan Angkatan Tentera (the Order of Warriors of the Military Forces): founded by King 'Abu Bakar Ri'ayat ud-din Shah al-Musta'in Billah on 16^th September 1983. Awarded for heroism or exceptional services in the armed forces in five classes (1. Gallant Commander or Panglima Gagah-PGAT; 2. Faithful Commander or Panglima Setia-PSAT, 3. Warrior or Pahlawan-PAT, 4. Officer or Kesatria-KAT, and 5. Herald or Bentara-BAT).

Darjah Kebesaran Pasukan Polis di-Raja Malaysia - PPP, neck badge.

Darjah Kebesaran Pasukan Polis di-Raja Malaysia (the Order of the Royal Malaysia Police Force): founded by King Ja'afar in 1993. Awarded for exceptional services in the Royal Malaysian Police in five classes (1. Gallant and Brave Commander or Panglima Gagah Berani-PGPP; 2. Faithful Commander or Panglima Setia-PSPP, 3. Warrior or Pahlawan-PPP, 4. Officer or Kesatria-KPP, and 5. Herald or Bentara-BPP).
