1827 - 1877 H.M. ‘Aimatta Pomare IV Vahine-‘o-Punuateraitua, By the grace of God, Queen of Tahiti, Moorea and its dependencies. b. at Pare, 28th February 1813, only surviving daughter of H.M. Tu Tunuiea’’aite-a-tua Pomare II, King of Tahiti, by his second wife, H.M. Queen Te-ri’to’-‘o-te-rai Tere Moemoe Pomare-vahine, educ. privately. Proclaimed on the death of her younger brother, 11th January 1827. Crowned at Papeete. Entered into a treaty of eternal peace and friendship with France, 4th September 1838. Accepted French protection and concluded a new treaty with King Louis Philippe, 9th September 1842. Succeeded in reuniting Ra’iatea and Bora Bora into the united kingdom of Tahiti with French assistence, 1857. Amended the line of succession in 1875. m. (first) at the LMS Chapel, Huahine, December 1822 (sep. 1831, div. 1832), H.R.H. Prince Tapoa II Teri’inohora’i Pomare-tane Opu Rahi, Ari‘irahi of Taha’a and Bora Bora (b. at Bora Bora, 1810; m. other wives, and d.s.p. March 1860), adopted by King Pomare II in 1815 and granted the title of Prince Pomare-tane Opu Rahi with the style of His Royal Highness 1820, only son of Teari‘inohorai’i Tapoa I, Ari‘irahi of Bora Bora, by his wife, Aimata, daughter of Pa, of Bora Bora. m. (second) at Papa’oa, Arue, 5th December 1832, H.R.H. Prince Tenani’a Ari‘i-Fa’aite-a-Hiro [Pomare-Tane] (b. at Ra’iatea, 10th January 1820; d. at Papeete, Tahiti, 6th August 1873, bur. Pomare Royal Cemetery, Papa’oa, Arue), presented with the uniform of a post Captain in the Royal Navy by Queen Victoria 1843, son of Ari‘ipeu-a-Hiro, Ari‘irahi of Huahine, by his wife, Princess Teihotu Tave’a, youngest daughter of Tamatoa IV, Ari‘irahi of Ra’iatea. She d. at the Royal Palace, Papeete, 17th September 1877 (bur. Pomare Royal Cemetery, Papa’oa, Arue), having had issue, eight sons and two daughters by her second husband:
