2023 H.H. Shaikh Misha’al bin Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah [Abu Talal], Amir of the State of Kuwait. b. at the Dasman Palace, Kuwait City, 27^th 1940, seventh son of H.H. Shaikh Ahmad I bin Jabir al-‘Ali al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, KCSI, KCIE, by his sixth wife, Shaikha Mariam bint Murait al-Huwailah, educ. Mubarakiya Nizamiya Sch, Kuwait Police Coll, Kuwait City, and the Metropolitan Police Coll, Hendon, Middlesex. Joined Ministry of the Interior 1960, prom Col 1967, Head of General Investigation Dept 1967-1980, Head of State Security Agency 1980-2004, Deputy Chief of Staff Kuwait National Guard (KNG) (with the personal rank of Minister) 2004-2020, prom Lieut-Gen 2016. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Crown Prince and style of His Highness, 7^th October 2020. Formally installed before the National Assembly, at Kuwait City, 8^th October 2020. Assumed the role of acting Amir on behalf of his elder brother due to his continuing poor health, 16^th November 2001. Succeeded on his death as Amir of the State of Kuwaitt, 16^th December 2023. Hon Presdt Kuwait Aeronautical Pilots & Engineers Assoc 1973-2017, and Kuwait Amateur Radio Soc 1979. Chair Diwaniya of Nabat Poets since 1977. Dir Ahmad al-Jabir Inheritance Trust. Shaikha Nuria bint Sabah al-Salim al-Sabah, former wife of H.E. Shaikh Jabir bin ‘Ali al-Salim al-Sabah, sometime Deputy Prime Minister, and daughter of H.H. Shaikh Sabah III bin Salim al-Mubarak al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, KCMG, by his first wife, Munira bint Fahad al-Adwani, daughter of Fahad Hamidi al-Adwani, of Fahaheel, in the Ahmadi Governorate of Kuwait. m. (second) 1990, H.E. Shaikha bint Badah ‘Abu al-Ghanaym al-Mutairi al-Andalus, daughter of Badah bin ‘Abdu’l Rahman ‘Abu al-Ghanaym al-Mutairi al-Andalus, of Al-Samman, Kuwait, businessman. He had issue, one son and six daughters by his first wife, and four sons and one daughter by his second wife:

1) H.E. Shaikh Ahmad bin Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait City, 22^nd September 1971 (s/o Nuria). Employed with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development 1994-2010, Assist Under-Sec Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs 2010-2012, Head of the Government Performance Monitoring Agency since 2012 (ranking as Minister since 2019). Vice-Chair Kuwait Ports Authority since 2018 (Dir 2014-2018). m. Shaikha Sara bint Fahad al-Yusuf al-Sabah (b. 7^th January 1983), eldest daughter of H.E. Shaikh Fahad bin Yusuf al-Sa’ud al-Sabah, by his wife, H.E. Shaikha Azza bint Jabir al-‘Ali al-Sabah, eighth daughter H.H. Shaikh Jabir III bin Ahmad al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, GCB, GCMG. He has issue, a son and four daughters:
- a) Shaikh Misha’al bin Ahmad bin Misha’al al-Sabah.
2) H.E. Shaikh Talal bin Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (s/o Munira). 3) H.E. Shaikh Fahad bin Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (s/o Munira). 4) H.E. Shaikh Jabir bin Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (s/o Munira). 5) H.E. Shaikh ‘Ali bin Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (s/o Munira).

1) H.E. Shaikha Muhassin bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait City, 1965 (d/o Nuria). m. H.E. Shaikh Fawaz bin Sa’ud al-Nasir al-Sa’ud al-Sabah, KCVO (b. 9^th November 1962), Under-Secretary for Economic & Political Affairs at the Amiri Diwan, son of H.E. Shaikh Sa’ud bin Nasir al-Sa’ud al-Sabah, sometime Minister for Oil, by his wife, H.E. Shaikha Awatif bint Sabah al-Sabah, daughter of H.H. Shaikh Sabah III bin Salim al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, KCMG – see above.

2) H.E. Shaikha Mukarima bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait City, 1966 (d/o Nuria). m. as his first wife, Shaikh Salman bin Hamud al-Salim al-Hamud al-Sabah, second son of Shaikh Hamud bin Salim al-Hamud al-Sabah, by his first wife, Fatima bint ‘Awadh al-Munir, daughter of ‘Awadh bint Hamud al-Munir. She had issue, one son and one daughter – see above.

3) H.E. Shaikha Mufatin bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait City, 1969 (d/o Nuria).

4) H.E. Shaikha Sheikha bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabahal-Sabah. b. at Kuwait City, 1972 (d/o Nuria). m. December 1984, as his first wife, Major H.E. Shaikh Ahmad bin Fahad bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Sabah (b. at Beirut, Lebanon, 12^th August 1963), sometime Minister for Energy, son of Shaikh Fahad bin Ahmad al-Sabah, by his wife, Shaikha Fazila bint Yusuf al-Sabah, daughter of Shaikh Yusuf bin ‘Athbi al-Sabah. She has issue – see above.

5) H.E. Shaikha Hala bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (d/o Nuria).

6) H.E. Shaikha Nouf bint Misha’al bin Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah (d/o Nuria).
