5) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan Sulaiman Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. at Nikhichivan, 28th March 1554 (s/o Sultan-aqa Khanum). Governor of Fars 1555-1557, and Mashhad 1576. He was k. on the orders of his half-brother, Shah Ismail II, 2nd November 1576 (bur. Shrine of Imamzada Husain, Qazvin).
6) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan Haidar Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. 1555 (s/o Sultanzada Khanum). He was k. at Qazvin, after having attempted to seize the throne, 14th May 1576 (bur. Qazvin), having had issue, one daughter:
a) A daughter. m. Hasan Khan Ustajalu (d. 1624), sometime Governor of Hamadan. She had issue, four sons.
7) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan Mustafa Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. 1557 (s/o Zahra Baji). He was k. at Qazvin, on the orders of his halfbrother, Shah Ismail II, 2nd November 1576 (bur. Shrine of Imamzada Husain, Qazvin), having had issue, two daughters:
a) H.M. the Mahd-i-Aliya. m. at Qazvin, November 1587, H.M. ‘Abu’l Muzaffar ‘Abbas Shah I {Shah ‘Abbas The Great], Shahanshah of Persia. b. at Herat, 27th January 1571; d. at Ashraf, 21st January 1629), third son of H.M. ‘Abu’l Muzaffar Muhammad Khuda Banda Shah, Shahanshah of Persia, by his second wife, Khair un-nisa Begum, H.M. The Mahd-i-Aliya, daughter of Mir ‘Abdu’llah Khan, Governor of Mazandaran.
b) Another daughter. m. after 1587, Zulfikhar Khan Karamanlu (k. 1610), Governor of Shirvan 1607-1610, son of Husam Beg Karamanlu. She had issue, two sons.
8) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan Mahmud Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. 1559 (s/o a Georgian slave). Governor Shirvan 1566-1567, and of of Lahijan 1567-1571. He was k. with his son at Qazvin, on the orders of his half brother, Shah Ismail II, 24th February 1577 (bur. Qazvin), having had issue, one son:

9) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan Imam Quli Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. 1562 (s/o Khan-Parwar Khanum). He was k. at Qazvin, on the orders of his halfbrother, Shah Ismail II, 24th February 1577 (bur. Qazvin).
10) Prince (Shahzada)Sultan ‘Ali Mirza bin Shah Tahmasp al-Safavi al-Husayni al-Musavi Bahadur Khan. b. at Qazvin, 1563 (s/o Zahra Baji). Governor of Ganja 1570-1577. Blinded and imprisoned by Shah ‘‘Abbas I at Alamut. m. at Isfahan, 1613, Kabuli Begum, widow of Amir Shahrukh Mirza, sometime Governor of Badakhsan and Malwa, and daughter of Shahzada Muhammad Hakim Mirza, sometime Governor of Kabul, by his wife, a daughter of Sulaiman Mirza Ilkhshi, sometime Governor of Badakshan. He d. at Isfahan, 31st January 1642, having had issue, one son:

1) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Gowhar Sultan Begum. b. March/April 1540. m. 1555, Shahzada ‘Abu’l Fath Sultan Ibrahim Mirza (b. 1543; k. at Qazvin, on the orders of Shah Ismail II, 24th February 1577), sometime Governor of Mashhad and Sabzawar, son of paternal uncle, Shahzada ‘Abu’l Fath Muiz ud-din Bahram Mirza, sometime Governor of Khorasan, Gilan and Hamadan, by his wife, Zainab Sultan Khanum, sister of Imad ud-din Khan Shirvani. She d. from grief, at Qazvin, 19th May 1577 (bur. Mashhad), having had issue, one daughter – see above.
3) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Khadija Sultan Begum (d/o the Daghistan lady). m. (first) 1567, her cousin, Jamshid Khan Gilani (b. 1557; k. at Quhdom, 1580), sometime Governor of Biya Pas, son of Sultan Mahmud Mirza Gilani, sometime Governor of Fuman. m. (second) 1608, as his third wife, Mir Nimatu’llah Yazdi Zu’l-Nurain, eldest son of Murtarda-i-Mammalik-i-Islam Amir Ghiyath ud-din Muhammad Yazdi, sometime Mir-i-Miran. She d. after 1627, having had issue, two sons, by her first husband.
4) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Zainab Begum [Nam Khanum] (d/o Huri-Khan Khanum). She d. unm. at Isfahan, 14th May 1641 (bur. Mashhad).
5) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Mariam Sultan Begum [Mirza Begum] (d/o Huri-Khan Khanum). m. (first) at Qavzin, 1576, H.E. Khan Ahmad Khan (b. 1535; d. at Constantinople, after August 1592), Governor of Gilan 1537-1567 and 1576-1592, fled to Shirvan after his rebellion was suppressed in August 1592, a relative of H.M. The Mahd-i-Aliya Nawab-i-Sipihr Istibah Bilqis uz-Zamani Khair un-nisa Begum and son of Sayyid Sultan Hasan Karkiya, of Lahijan, in Gilan. m. (second) after 1592, as his second wife, Mir Nimatu’llah Yazdi Zu’l-Nurain, eldest son of Murtarda-i-Mammalik-i-Islam Amir Ghiyath ud-din Muhammad Yazdi, sometime Mir-i-Miran. 8) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Fatima Sultan Begum (d/o a Georgian slave). m. at Tabriz, 29th May 1580, Amir Khan Musallu (k. at Qahqaha, 1584), Governor of Khorasan 1578-1584, son of Muhsmmad Beg Musallu, a Turkoman. She d.s.p. at Tabriz, 1581 (bur. Ardibil).
9) Princess (Shahzadi Alamiyan) Shahbanu Khanum (d/o the Daghistan lady). m. 1580/1582, as his first wife, her cousin, Amir Salman Khan Ustajalu (m. second, Princess Gowhar Sultan Khanum, and d. at Isfahan, 1623), Governor of Qazvin 1612, Vizier to ‘Abbas Shah I 1620-1623, son of Shah ‘Ali Quli Mirza Ustajalu. 1) Princess (Shahzadi ‘Alamiyan) Safia Sultan Begum [Shahzada Khanum]. b. 1555 (d/o Safia Sultan Begum). m. 1578, Mir Khalilu’llah Yazdi (d. of diarrhœa, at Agra, India, 19th June 1608 o.s.), Governor of Yazd, who entered the Mughal service and was appointed to an Imperial mansab of 1,000 zat and 200 sowar 1607, younger son of Murtarda-i-Mammalik-i-Islam Amir Ghiyath ud-din Muhammad Yazdi, sometime Mir-i-Miran. She d. before 3rd September 1617 o.s., having had issue, four sons:

(second) at Isfahan, November 1601, Shahzada Sultan Muhammad Baqir Safi Mirza (b. at Mashhad, 15th September 1587; k. on the orders of his father, at Rasht, 2nd February 1614), son of H.M. ‘Abu’l Muzaffar ‘Abbas Shah I [Shah ‘Abbas The Great], Shahanshah of Persia. She had issue, one son by her first husband and another son by her second – see below.
