1911 - 1931 Colonel H.H. Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Sir Daulat Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Idar, KCSI (1.1.1920). b. at Jodhpur, 12th May 1875, eldest son of Maharaj Shri Bhupal Singhji Sahib of Jodhpur, educ. Nobles’ High Sch, Jodhpur and Mayo Coll, Ajmer. Cmsnd into the Jodhpur State Forces, and served as a sqd cdr with the Jodhpur Risala in the Tirah campaign 1897-1898, and Boxer Rebellion in China 1900, Military Secretary to the Maharaja of Idar and MSC Idar 1902-1911. Attended the Coronation of the King-Emperor Edward VII and Queen-Empress Alexandra in London in 1902, and the Coronation of the King-Emperor George V and Queen-Empress Mary in 1911. Adopted by his paternal uncle, Maharaja Sir Pratap Singhji, as his son and successor and invested with the title of Yuvraj Shri Maharajkumar Sahib, 1902. Succeeded on the abdication of his adopted father, May 1911. Installed on the gadi at Himmatnagar, 21st July 1911. Hon ADC to the Prince of Wales (later the King-Emperor George V) 1902, Hon. Maj British Army 15/10/1914, served in the Great War in Egypt and the Middle East 1914-1918, prom Hon Lieut-Col 1/1/1918, Col-in-Chief Idar “Sir Pratap” Infantry 15/2/1926. Veerpuriji Rani Chhattra Kanwarji Sahiba, daughter of Thakur Prithvi Singhji, of Jalore, under Jodhpur Marwar. m. (third) 1916, H.H. Chawadiji Rani Udai Kanwarji Sahiba (d. 16th June 1924), daughter of Thakur Shri Pratap Singh, of Sabalwad, in Idar. m. (fourth) H.H. Chawadiji Rani Jash Kanwarji Sahiba (d. 1943), daughter of Kumar Shri Nahar Singhji, of Sabalwad, in Idar. m. (eighth) H.H. Bhatianiji Rani Banney Kanwarji Sahiba, daughter of Thakur Shri Mohabhat Singhji, of Bhutia, under Idar. m. (ninth) 1919, H.H. Bhstianiji Rani Kishan Kunwar Sahiba (d. 12th May 1921), daughter of the Thakur of Jakara, under Jodhpur Marwar. m. (tenth) H.H. Vaghelji Rani Har Kunwarji Sahiba, daughter of Kumar Shri Amarsinghji Vaghela, of Kheroj, in Danta. m. (a) Paswan Shri Vanuji Sahib. He d. at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Bombay, 14th April 1931, having had issue, four sons and two daughters:
Maharaja Shri Sir Daulatsinhji had further issue by his paswan, Vanuji, three sons:
  • 4) Rao Raja Hamirsinhji Daulatsinhji, of Techava and Achral. Granted the jagir of Techava and Achral by his brother, 11th March 1948. He d. 8th January 1975.

Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Sir Daulatsinhji Partabsinghji Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Idar, KCSI, by his first wife, H.H. Shri Bhatianji Maharaniji Poongalianiji Yash Kanwarji Maji Sahiba, educ. Mayo Coll, Ajmer. Attended the Coronation of the King-Emperor George V and Queen-Empress Mary, at Westminster Abbey, in London, and served as Page-of-Honour to the King-Emperor at the Delhi Coronation Durbar in 1911. Succeeded on the death of his father, 14th April 1931. Installed on the gadi at Himmatnagar, 11th July 1931. Merged his state with Bombay, 10th June 1948. Col-in-Chief Idar “Sir Pratap” Infantry 1931-1954. An outstanding all-round sportsman, hunting, horse-racing, polo, tent-pegging and pig-sticking, cricket and football being his specialities. (second) at Fir Clump, Mussoorie, 11th June 1913, H.H. Ponwarji Rani Shri Tej Kunwar Deviji Sahiba (d. 1931/1932), third daughter of H.H. He d. 24th November 1960, having had issue, two sons:

Granted Daljitgarh and ten other villages as his jagir on 27th October 1933, which he exchanged for Kapoda and Isarwada 21st November 1947. Comptroller of the Household, Presdt Sardar Court 1943, Hon Capt Idar State Forces 31/7/1943, staff officer to the cdt 1943-1948, attached Jodhpur State Forces, later served with Brigade of Guards, IA, retd as Lt-Col. Mbr Royal Commonwealth Soc (London). Rcvd: Coron (1937), Indian Independence (1948), and Idar State George V Jubilee (1935) medals. m. at Jodhpur, 31st May 1940, Bhatianiji Rani Shri Surendra Kunwarba Sahiba (b. 1925; d. 1st October 2010), daughter of Thakur Kalyan Singhji, of Bhanwari, under Osian, Amednagar. 1960 - [1992] H.H. Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Daljit Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Idar. b. at Himmatnagar, 10th July 1917, elder son of Colonel H.H. Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Himmat Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Idar, by his first wife, H.H. Bada Maharani Shri Jawahar Kunwar Sahiba, educ. Mayo Coll, Ajmer. A successful competition pilot who won the Wakefied Trophy for aerobatics and the Speedoline Trophy for instrument flying at Karachi in 1938. Hon Pilot Instructor RIAF at Bombay and Madras 1940-1941, served in WW2 1940-1945, Presdt Sardar Court and Superintendent of the Court of Wards 1941-1947, Chief Minister of Idar 1947-1948. Succeeded on the death of his father, 24th November 1960. MLA for Idar in the Bombay state assembly 1951-1957, and for Himmatnagar in the Gujarat state assembly 1967-1971. The Government of India amended the Indian Constitution to remove his position as a “ruler” and his right to receive privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. A successful competition flyer who won the Wakefied Trophy for aerobatics and the Speedoline Trophy for instrument flying at Karachi in 1938. Contested the Sabarkantha constituency in the 1977 Lok Sabha elections. Succeeded on the death of his father as Head of the Royal House of Idar, 17th May 1992. A prominent champion racehorse owner in India. Proprietor of the Pratap Stud Farm (Himmatnagar). Trustee Maharaja Daljitsinhji Trust. Mbr Indian Assoc of Equine Practitioners, Royal Western India Turf Club (Bombay), Hyderabad Race Club, etc. Dir Khetan International Pvt Ltd since 1995. m. 20th February 1960, H.H. Maharani Shri Prakash Kumari Sahiba (b. October 1941), daughter of H.H. Maharaja Thakore Shri Vikramsinhji Bhojrajsinhji Sahib, Maharaja of Gondal, by his wife, H.H. Maharani Shri Nayan Kunverba Sahiba, daughter of Rajadhiraj Shri Keshri Singhji, of Achrol, in Jaipur. He has issue, an only daughter:
  • 1) Maharajakumari Baisa Shri Viveka Kumari Sahiba [Kunwarani Viveka Kumari Sahiba, of Loharia]. b. 18th April 1980.
