GENEALOGY
1892 - 1928 Meherban Shrimant Ramrao II Amritrao [Aba Sahib] Dafle, Desmukh of Jath. b. at Umraun, 11th January 1886, as Bowanjirao Parashuramrao Dafle, fourth son of Shrimant Sardar Parashuramrao Madhavrao Dafle, of Umraun, educ. Rajaram Coll., Kolhapur and Rajkumar Coll., Rajkot. Adopted by his maternal great aunt, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Lakshmibai Raje Sahib Dafle, widow of Shrimant Amritrao Ramrao Sahib Dafle, Desmukh of Jath, 1892. Installed on the gadi, at the City Palace, Jath, 13th January 1893. Reigned under the Regency of his adopted mother until her death on 28th March 1897, and then under a Council of Regency appointed by the GOI. He came of age and was formally invested with full ruling powers at Ramdas Palace, Jath, 11th January 1907. Resumed Daflepur on the death of Rani Lakshmibai in 1917. A modern and benevolent ruler who established several primary and secondary schools, introduced local self-government, free medical services, banking facilities for farmers, constructed several irrigation tanks and public buildings. He also rendered useful services to the Crown during the Great War and established a Jath Company of the Mahratta Light Infantry, within the territorial army scheme. Mbr Deccan Education Soc, Willingdon Sports Club (Bombay), etc. m. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 18th May 1902, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Bhagirathibai Raje Sahib Dafle (b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 16th November 1889), Regent for her son 1928-1929, née Shrimant Putalabai Raje Sahib Bhonsle, second daughter of Meherban Shrimant Shahaji III Raje Bhonsle [Baba Sahib], Raja of Akalkot, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Lakshmibai Raje Sahib Bhonsle, daughter of Shrimant Sardar Narayanrao Dhaibar Killedar, by his wife, the second daughter of H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Sir Khanderao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, GCSI. He d. at Ramdas Palace, Jath, 14th August 1928, having had issue, four sons and three daughters:
1928 - 1998 Lieutenant-Commander The Hon Raja Shrimant Vijaysinhrao Ramrao Raje Sahib Dafle, Raja of Jath. b. at the City Palace, Jath, 21st July 1909, eldest son of Meherban Shrimant Ramrao II Amritrao Dafle [Aba Sahib], Desmukh of Jath, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Bhagirathibai Raje Sahib Dafle, educ. Jath High Sch., and Deccan Coll., Poona. Succeeded on the death of his father, 14th August 1928. Installed on the gadi at the City Palace, Jath, 30th September 1928. Reigned under a Council of Regency headeed by his mother, until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, at the City Palace, Jath, 12th January 1929. Mbr Third Indian Round Table Conference in London 1932. Cmsnd as Hon Sub-Lieut RIN 27/6/1934, prom Hon Lieut 27/6/1937, served in WW2 1940-1944, prom Hon Lieut-Cdr 27/6/1945. Granted the hereditary title of Raja 23rd June 1936. Introduced full responsible government within his state in 1946. Signed the instrument of accession to the Dominion of India, August 1947. Merged his state into Bombay 8th March 1948. MLA Bombay, 1952-1962, MP (Lok Sabha) for Miraj, 1962-1967. The GOI amended the Indian Constitution to remove his position as a "ruler" and his right to receive privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. A famous cricketer who competed in the Ranji Trophy tournaments several times. Presdt All-India Mahratta Educational Conference at Mahad. (first) at Akalkot, 27th March 1929, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Lilavatibai Raje Dafle [Akka Sahib] (b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 11th January 1918), eldest daughter of Captain Meherban Shrimant Raja Fatehsinhrao III Shahaji Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot, by his first wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Tarabai Raje Sahib Bhonsle, KIH, second daughter of Meherban Shrimant Rajamanya Rajashri Sir Pirajirao [Bapu Sahib] Ghatge, Sarjerao, Hindurao, Vazarat, Ma-ab, 5th Chief of Kagal (Senior), KBE, CSI, CIE. m. (second) at Alandi, 17th February 1941, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Sulochana Raje Sahib Dafle (d. at Bombay, 13th April 1944), daughter of Shrimant Sakhoji Raje Mahadik [Ana Sahib], Inamdar of Tarle. m. (third) at Bombay, 12th July 1949, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Usha Raje Sahib Dafle (b. 14th March 1923; d. 1986), née Shrimant Maharajkumari Usha Raje Gaekwar, elder daughter of Shrimant Maharajkumar Dhairyasilrao Ga ekwad, of Baroda, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharajkumari Vimala Devi Gaekwad, daughter of Shrimant Sardar Sakroji Raje Mahadik, of Tarale, in the Satara dist. He d. at Jath, 12th July 1998, having had issue, two daughters by his second wife*:
