Granted the title of Prince (Krum Luang) Vadhi Rajavudhaya 7th March 1848. Ordained at Wat Bovornniwat Temple, Bangkok. Prom to the title of Brhat Angga Rajavati Brhat Naradhama [Norodom] Parama Suriya Vadhana, after he left the priesthood in 1856. Appointed by the King of Siam as Maha Uparaja with the title of Samdach Angga Brhat Naradhama Parama Pariraksha Maha Uparaja in 1857, and permitted to return to Cambodia in June 1858. Succeeded on the death of his father, 19th October 1860. Fled to Bangkok after the French bombardment of Saigon, January 1862. Returned to Udong, March 1862. Concluded a Treaty of Protection with France, 11th August 1863. Crowned at Udong, with the title of Brhat Pada Samdach Brhat Rajankariya Brhat Naradhama Parama Rama Devavotana Gunapasa Sundhariddhi Maha Isvara Adipati Sri Suriya Varman Maha Chakrapati Bangsa-Damrungsa Rastra Parama Manada Maha Kambuja Adhipatindhara Sipar Salapa Prasadhi Sadhita Sudhapara Parama Manurajaya Jayapana MahaisaVariya Adipati Nayapata Pidula Sakula Kambuja Neagara Akhara Maha Parusaratana Vivadhanadhiraksa Ekka Udama Parama Maha Chakraputradhiraja Paramamanada Parama Pavitra Brhat Chau Krung Kambuja Adipati, Jaya Brhat Angga Majas Jivitha Ludhibana, 3rd June 1864.
